Children often have a difficult time with change — even if it’s just leaving the playground for the day or transitioning from one activity to another. For children with anxiety, trouble with transitions might be due to worry about the next event. They might be afraid that what is coming will be distressing or hard for them, like socializing with other kids or separating from parents. These children often feel like they’ll never be able to handle the discomfort that usually comes along with such stressful situations. Learning better coping skills can put them at ease and allow them to push through tough transitions.

Our experienced psychologists and social workers diagnose and treat the full range of anxiety disorders. We often help families who have struggled to find effective anxiety treatment in the past. If you are concerned about your child and looking for help, please reach out to us today.

Safe Screen Time & Apps for Kids’ Well-Being

From schoolwork to connecting with friends, kids use screens for all kinds of things — so it’s not realistic to forbid them altogether. But there are good reasons to be aware of how much time your child is spending on their devices. It’s also important to consider what content they’re looking at and how they’re engaging with it. We’ve teamed up with Google Play to help families discover apps and activities that support kids’ health and well-being.

The Thriving Kids Projects

Millions of children — as many as 1 in 5 — struggle with mental health or learning challenges. To support educators and parents, we’ve partnered with the state of California and the Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association (OCCRRA) to develop a series of free, evidence-based video and print resources to teach kids critical mental health and coping skills.
